I knew that Gemma and Matt’s wedding would be something special – Gemma is a fashion designer (She designed the iconic and much sought-after Whistles “Carrie” skirt) and so I couldn’t wait to see her dress. I wasn’t disappointed, she wore a gorgeous, elegant gown by the French designer Delphine Manivet, and teamed it with some of the best wedding shoes I’ve ever seen! The rest of the day carried on along the same theme, of beautiful, understated elegance with the odd touch of frivolity and a whole lot of fun! When Gemma first chatted to me about her wedding, she told me that they were hiring a Morris Minor car, which just happens to be one of my favourite cars ever, and that didn’t disappoint either – so much fun being driven around London in a car that really gives you a sense of the speed you’re travelling at! And when we arrived at the venue, The Savile Club in Mayfair, I was overwhelmed with what a beautiful light, spacious venue it is. It’s cavernous, with outdoor space and lots of light – very unusual for a location in Central London. The final surprise was the evening entertainment…not just a DJ, but Stick It On – where the guests become the DJs! What a fantastic, fun way to really get your guests involved in the evening entertainment! I hope you enjoy these photos as much as I enjoyed shooting them.
With thanks to my second shooter Kat Forsyth for accompanying me on this wedding.
