I had a fantastic time at Laura and Jon’s wedding at Danby Castle in North Yorkshire yesterday. It was my first Yorkshire wedding, and only my second time visiting this beautiful part of the country. And what a venue to be introduced to – set in the middle of the moors, surrounded by purple heather, green moorland and the occasional cornfield, this fortified domestic castle ruins (one of the oldest in the UK) is just stunning – a photographer’s paradise!
Laura and Jon gave me and my assistant Lisa so much time to take these portrait shots, and we were able to get three different types of photo at three different times of the day – the portraits in the ruins were taken immediately after the ceremony, the “dip and kiss” was during the meal when they took a break before dessert, and the cornfield was after the meal, when they were waiting for the band to set up. Laura and Jon, thank you for being so fab to work with, and I can’t wait to show you the rest of the photos!
