Franky + Carl {A London Pre-Wedding Shoot}

I’ve only met Franky once before yesterday – at the Love My Dress soiree. And I hadn’t met Carl at all. So I was quite…apprehensive? or maybe just cautious… Franky is a blogger and a bit of a social media butterfly, and she wrote a blog post a while ago about how important photography was to her (which made me cry SO MUCH) so I felt like I really wanted to give them some photos that they love – to bring my best game to play. I needn’t have worried – as soon as I met them, I knew that we were going to have a great afternoon.

Franky is just so relaxed, so warm and such fun to be around. Carl is quieter (at least with me, I imagine he’s pretty different when surrounded by his mates!) but equally engaging.

When chatting to Carl over a couple of drinks after the shoot, I mentioned to him that Franky comes across as soft and gentle, but how, underneath that exterior, I can see a core strength in her that’s pretty amazing. Carl agreed. What I didn’t say, through embarrassment of being too familiar too soon, is that I think Carl is a huge part of Franky’s strength. I’ve rarely met a couple who seem to complement each other so well. Carl holds Franky’s hand when she talks about her Dad, he watches her to make sure she’s ok all the time. That’s not to say that they’re sickly-sweet to be around, not at all – their banter is hilarious, and relentless! They’re just so incredibly in tune with each other. I can’t wait to show you more photos, and I am just SO excited about their winter wedding, in January, at Pinewood Studios.
